NC StarGreen Laser

As a cool addition to my gear I purchased a NC Star Green Laser Light for my M&P 9mm.
The cool thing about it is that it easily changes to a pistol flashlight simply buy changing the head of the device.  I'll have my M&P equipped with this as my CZ will be my main firearm for training.
If you look closely on the wall you can see the green dot.  i'll also take it to the range and practice target aquisition with the aid of the laser.  Pretty cool riggin' and not really expensive at $85!

B.A.D Lever for AR 15

Magpul offers a B.A.D. lever for the AR 15 platform.  It is a cool acronym for battery assist device.
It allows me to manipulate the bolt release while using only the trigger finger, thus eliminating the use of your left hand to pull the charging handle after reloads.  It's also effective in locking the bolt open when proving the weapon safe and clear or when it needs to be placed on a rack from a range command.  Super easy to install and a great aftermarket essential to increase speed and efficiency.

Smith and Wesson 686 Revolver 357 Magnum

Having a credit note at Flarrety's Outdoor store means a small piece of paper in my gun safe.  I'd much rather put it to good use.  So here's the good use!  The Smith and Wesson 686 357 magnum revolver.
I took it to the range and had a blast with this demon.  KABOOM!  Lot's of power, but it also shoots lees powerful (and less expensive 38 special rounds)

Concussive Force

Haha!  Live and learn.  I was shooting my AR 15 from 50 yards and the muzzle was a little too close to the end of my gunrest.  The AR is crazy powerful and the concussive wave that is emitted blew up my gun rest.  The stuffing was everywhere!  Next time I'll have to position it just a bit further away!

Midwest Industries Quad Rails

After replacing the stock onb my AR 15, the tech did not replace the spring.  The result was a crushed retaining spring that had to be replaced.  I also replaced the front platic grips with new Midwest Industries Quad Rails.  They are free floating so nothing touches the barrel.  They also look super Evil!

1954 7.62x39mm rifle

On this beautiful sunny November day, I  tried out a 1954 7.62x39mm rifle.
Man, this gun was fun!  Super accurate.  In fact, my shots were grouped at about 2".  Lots of fun and comes standard with a very cool (and lethal) bayonette.  There are many very cool people at Silverdale who invite you to try their firearms.  I like that.  Hopefully next week my Stag AR 15 will be ready with the new buffer retainer spring and quadrail.  Can't wait!

My new CZ 75 SP01 Shadow Canadian Edition

Today is a good day!  I picked up my CZ 75 SP01 Shadow Canadian Edition in silver.
Having seen the difficulty to optain one, I had to grab one while I could.  I really wanted to wait till spring but I really, really, wanted to make sure I could get one.  The very first shot was bang on- in the center of the center of the bull!  The accuracy of this  gun is like nothing I've experienced in my short tenure as a shooter.  However, many far more experienced shooters shay it's the best 9mm out of the box.  The CZ Canadian editions are sent fromCZ to USA where the CZ gunsmith burnishes the interior parts and barrel, enhances the hammer, replaced the recoil spring with an 11 lb spring and fully tunes the trigger.  The fibre optic sights make for easy target aquisiton and yours truly has fallen in love with this hot lil Canadian edition. What a piece! :)

Cz 75 SP01 Shadow: Canadian Edition

I had heard a lot about the CZ 75 Shadow made in Czechoslovakia.
It was designed in 1975 and has since become immensley popular with military, police, security, competitive shooters and shooting hobbyists.
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to shoot 2 magazines through an aquaintance's CZ in black.
Wow! I was amazed.  Not looking to purchase another 9mm, I was helpless to my desire to own one.
After some research, I found it was difficult to find one, but like most things, it's usually right under one's nose.  In my case, Seth at Lanz Shooting Supplies had a few that were going fast.  I made a call to the shop and his wife Sarah put one aside for me.
The Canadian edition comes in black or stainless.  I went with the stainless.  They are also sent to a CZ gunsmith in US who tunes the trigger, enhances the hammer, tricks out an 11 lb recoil spring and equips them with fibre optic sights.  The grips are in red and laser engraved with our maple leaf.  I am a strong lover of our country and have one more reason to love it even more!
I aquired a new Bladetech holster for it , and after reconfiguring my mag pouches... I have my pistol and rig that I'll use for competion this year.

Sig Sauer 1911 Disassembled

YouTube can be a fantastic tool to learn just about anything.  However, when I looked at the videos on how to disassemble a Sig 1911 .22 I found my instructer "Billy Bob" from Alabama who carefully walked me through the intricate nuances of disassembling this precicion weapon!
"Well, you take dis thingy here and den grab the end of this whatmacallit and remove dis thingamajig and der you have it..all done!" Funny as hell, but nonetheless...dat video thingy really helped me ya'll!

A Really Really Close view of my Trigger Finger!

Recently I've had some pain and swelling throughout my findex finger and I thought it would be hilarious to give you a closer look!  Turns out there's some tendon strain and arthritis from years of damage.  The specialist gave me a shot of steroids that acts as an anti-infalmmatory.  Hope you like this closeup view of my pistol hand! lol!

Seahorse Quick Draw Pistol case

Here's my new Seahorse waterproof Quick Draw pistol case that holds 4 pistols with 5" barrels, up to 8 magazines, two revolver quickload spools and a spot for additional items.  I like the fact that the firearms are well protected  while at the range and you don't have to fiddle with a bunch of locks and cases.

Under Armour Waterproof Tac Boots

Had to get some waterproof boots for the rain and snow and decided on Under Armour.
my derert tac boots are SWAT and they are great.  Very happy with these new kicks with goretex and fully waterproof.  Comfortable and fit like a glove!

Single Shot Shotgun Pistol

This a crazy, really cool 12 gauge single shot pistol.  It was a rainy day at the Pumpkin shoot and
it was a ton of fun to blast this lil tiger!  My time was limited and the boyz looked super tied up getting the zombie course going, but man, did it look awesome!  Hopefully in the spring I'll have a chance to do a  few Zombie stages!

Pumpkin Shoot 2012

Some of the damage done by my ar 15 at Silverdale's 2012 Pumpkin Shoot.  It turns out that when Flarhett'ys changed the stock of my gun, they did not change the spring.  They left the old one in and it was not cycling properly.  In fact, it became unuseable as a small sping by the trigger in the upper was ruined.  Now it's out of commission till I get new parts and take it to a reliable gunsmith.  Thanks Flarrety's!

Zombie Ammo...just in case

This Get ready for the Zomies thing is hilarious!  It has turned from a tounge in cheek joke to a real thiving industry.  I love it!  Check out the Zombie tips in the movie attached.

My New Sig Sauer 1911 22 cal

Being a musician, I've been accused of being a bit of a "gear pig"  If I'm really into drums, I like to have many.  That's why I bought the Roland TD 20 electronic kit with unlimited drum, cymbal and percussion sounds.
I really like guns too so, I'm in!
Eventually i would like to buy a Kimber .45, very hot and very shiny..they are beautiful pieces of work.  For now, to save on ammo costs and still get the fun (without the bang) I purchased a Sig Sauer 1911 22 cal.  I was also looking at the Wather Colt 1911, but the Sig felt and looked much better.  The green 3 dot sights and the overall ergonomics and aesthetics of the Sig won me over. I pick it up tomorrow, and apparently Mike's Beretta PX 4 Storm is enroute after shaving off a burr on the slide that caused the jamming. I'm psyched to run it tomorrow!

New toys for the toy

At the range I found the stock to my AR 15 a bit short.  I had to hold the firearm differently, in  an unnatural fashion to compensate.  Dom at Al Flarrety's is super cool.  We rigged up my ar with a new stock, new foregrip and new handgrip.  The stock is longer and feels waaay better.  At the range on Sunday for the make a Wish Pumpkin shoot,  I bought special Hornaday Zombie 223 exploding ammo for the occasion!

Beretta PX 4 Storm

My buddy Mike from Scotland is also a gun-nut!  So much so that he purchased a Beretta PX 4 Storm withe the stainless slide.  Unfortunately, the gun jammed like crazy.  It was not feeding or extracting properly so we promptly returned it and the shop keeper gladly gave him a replacement.  Much to our surprise he encountered the same problems.  The gun has now been shipped off to Beretta to be repaired. it seems very strange for this to happen to two guns especially froma proven manufacturer like Beretta.  Once it comes back I'll take it to the range and run a couple hundred rounds through it and report back in a later post.  Stay tuned!

AR at 100 yards

From 100 yards it was really tough to see if I was  hitting the target or not.  I saw the two bulls eyes, but not much after that.  Not until I retrieved the target did I see that I was in fact pretty close.  But close only counts in hand grenades!  better shooting next time!

AR 15 target from 50 yards

Having sighted in my AR 15, I began shooting from 50 yards and here are the results.
It's unbelievable how much "boom" there is and how little recoil there is.  The Stag AR 15 is a  total gas to shoot!

My Ar is awake!

Today was a gorgeous warm, sunny day and I had to hit the range to sight in my ar.  Youtube videos and a few hints from fellow shooters made it far easier than I expected.
My Stag AR 15 is super accurate, fun to shoot and is really loud!! A triumvirate of wicked arsenal bonuses!

Ar 15 with scope, sighted in and resting

Not sure if this is a common phenomenon, or if it's because I broke all my fingers.
After shooting my pistol regularly for a few weeks, my trigger finger is siezed.  Very painful.
Go figure, one more ailment!  But that has given me the chance to replace  the cam pin in my ar, mount my scope, set up my gun rest and sight in my ar.  It's resting in this shot, bu not in  the next!

Cuttin out the center

My last trip to the range was a breakthrough for my accuracy.  After working on platform and grip and draws, I made a few small adjustments on how the sight the target.  The results were instant and I believe now that I have finally found the formula that really works for me. In the past, accuracy was an issue and now I think I have it tuned in. Man, what a difference!

Practicing Reloads

Using video for either drum techniques or firearm techniques allows me to see objectively what I'm doing right and what needs to be corrected.  n my next reload post, I'll be correcting the errors that I can see here.  Far too much body movement wastes time and inhibits fast sighting.

My Buddy Mike from Scotland

Having done shooting together in Asia, my buddy Mike and I hiet the range to blast a few hundred rounds.  He purchased a Beretta PX4 Storm, however,it continually jammed and will b returned for a refund.  He'll select another brand and model wqhen he comes over for another visit next spring.
Hopefully, at that time he'll do his TDSA advanced pistol courses as well

Bushnell 6500 Elite Riflescope

After much deliberation and research regarding what riflescope to purchase for my AR 15, I decided to go with the Bushnell 6500 Elite 1.25x8.  I recently had it mounted, aligned with a bore laser and fittled with pop-up lens covers.  The clarity is amazing and will allow me to use at close range with both eyes open or at long range.  I'm looking forward to aligning the sights and getting back on the range.

Zombie Paris Hilton

There's avery funny tongue in cheek reference that the shooter community has.  It's " be ready for when the Zombies arrive". Well, Zombie Paris Hilton and her Zombie Chiahuahua arrived at the range today and were greeted with my ar 15 and 9mm!  ( I saved her lovely complexion, yellow smile and her snivelling Zombie mutt for next time! ( I also was rather neglegent as a gentleman to ruin her lovely Zombie breasts and skanky naked blue tummy skin!)

60 mm Spotting Scope

The Gear Continues!

The Celestron 60 mm spotting scope is my latest aquisition to my hoard of gear!
This small purchase has sufficiently motivated me to  aquire some kickass optics for my Stag AR 15.
Hopefully this scope will only show the hits and not my misses. ( Wouldn't it be nice if all our optics were that way way in life?)

Sean's Accuracy AX .338 Lapula

I recieved a call from a friend of mine Sean who heard I was into this "gun stuff"
Well, apparently I'm not alone!  Sean and I have similar interests in martial arts, music, (he's a bass player) and I've always enjoyed his company.  The call was a delightful surprise for me as I quickly learned that another one of our common interests is this "gun stuff"
I have to applaud his sense of commitment on many levels.  He and his lovely wife Ellena, myself and our cache of arms had a great day at the range!
Sean pulled out an Accuracy AX.338 Lapula sniper rifle. (The gun apparently has been documented as holding the longest successful shot at 2.84 kilometers.
Here's the first shot by Sean on video.

More Gear!

My good buddy Dom hooked me up with a great deal on a camper.  I wasn't really sold on the idea until I thought of the possibilites.  A travelling condo with a furnace, two big beds with heated matresses, lights, sink, sitting area, and a cooker for inside or out, a 7' canopy and a cold fridge.
Hmmmm... the possibilites are endless, (at least until late October to May)
I had a  trailer hitch with the wiring harness installed and now I'm good to roll!
Of course, as soon as I took possession of it there has been nothing but rain.
At least I'll be cozy and dry. Can't wait to take it to the range and beyond!

Advanced Pistol 2 Certificate

The Advanced Pistol 2 program was another awesome course.  Shooting multiple targeets, moving and shooting and shooting behind barricades are just a few of the elements covered here.  On Wednesday evenings, the TDSA crew get together with the instructors and practice all aespects of what we were taught.  Like anything, reviewing, reminding and practising help to ingrain the principles into ones mind so it becomes natural.  Trust me, I am far from good at this stuff but with practice I hope to be.  Tonite I reconfigured my equipment belt so it felt more comfortable when I reload.
I sent my coach a text regarding what i was doing and he immediatly sent me a text to ensure that when I do reload, I should see the target through my trigger guard.  Awesome tip that I won't forget!
I know that some of my friends have a curiosity and even a desire to pursue pistol shooting and I can't encourage you enough to pursue it.  Challenging, rewarding, a great sense of comradarie with others who share the same interest, outdoors and having fun.  But with that said, I'll be playing basketball Thursday night for two hours and will be hobbled for a week!  Hopefully I'll shoot well! (usually do, at least on the court!)lol!

Advanced Pistol 1 Certificate

An awesome course thanks to my coach Scott Little.  Holster qualification and completion of AP1 has been a blast.  Prior to the course my thought was- aim and shoot.  Man, there is so much more to pistol work.  Forgetting about your day and relaxing and focusing in on this super fun and challenging feat. Ensuring the pistol muzzle is always pointed ina safe direction down range. Setting the proper  platform or stance, proper draw to the correct grip, propeer sight picture, feeling the slack of the trigger and meeting the breaking point. Then using just the very tip of your finger to smoothly pull the trigger.  Waiting and seeing and feeling what you just did.  Retracting the pistol the same way it was presented and safely holstering it. Sounds easy, but it's an exercise in physics, anatomy, muscle and mental memory.  But man, it's fun!

New Kicks

Since my knees and ankles are blown from nearly a half a century of basketball, I found that the terrain can be a bit tracherous.  On the make a wish fundraising day at Silverdale, Hamilton Tacticle hapopened to have a kiosk there with the exact footwaer I was looking for.( well not exactly, i did like the pair with the zipper down the side) but they were there and so was I!  Awesome s.w.a.t. desert boot.  Unbelievably comfortable with great support.  i think I may have to get a waterproof pair in black.  As a good Canadian boy, rain and snow mean a good day to be at the range or barbequing!

Finally at Home!

Finally at Home are my Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm and Stag AR 15.
Broke them both down to familiarize myself with them and cleaned the M&P thoroughly as I put 1000 rounds through it.  Just waiting on myfulltime Authorization to transport, then off to da range at my leisure!

Fenix TK 21

I just recieved the Fenix TK 21 tacticle flashlight with 468 lumens.  Great kit with holster and  lanyard.  Great ergonomics and feel. Very happy with this product.

6am Holster Practice

Well Thanks the Lord for small miracles!  I finally recieved my P.A.L licences and a temporary travel permit.  I camped out on the range and ran 1000 rounds through my new M&P 9mm.  I changed from a medium palmswell to a large and found that the larger grip ensured I use my left hand more.  As a result, I was far more accurate.  Here I'm using the bladetech holster that comes with the kit, but by now, I'm so used to a drop hoslter and my instructor Scott has generously donated a spare for my cause! These draws are slow as I'm also working on accuracy shooting an 8" paper plate. I have the 9mm and Stag AR 15 now and will be posting again soon!

Not Exactly a Zombie Machine

Well it's not exactly a Zombie Machine, but it is part of my new arsenal! Picked up this 92 YJ Renegade last week.  I sold my Expedition Planet Killer and picked up this classic buggy!

Shooting Steel

Having some fun shooting some steel!

Zombie Killas!

After the competion we had a chance to blast away the remaining rounds of ammo.  Here's Scott, Don, Aaron and Travis unleashing! Quality Zombie repellent tactics!

Travis and Don Lighting It Up

This weekend was the Make a Wish Fundraising Day at Silverdale and it was a blast.  The TDSA boys held The Steel Challenge Competition and there were some excellent shooters!
Here's a vid of Travis and Don lighting up some steel.

At the range in Phukett Thailand

Here's a shot of yours truly at the range at Phukett, Thailand.
Bad Grip!  No wonder why I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn! I know better now!

Stag Arms

Brand Loyalty!

Those who know me know I love Pearl Drums, Roland electronic drums, Weber BBQ's and other brands.  I like the gear, the swag and everything associated with it!
So here's a blatant free plug for my AR brand : Stag Arms.

Kimber 1911 Desert Warrior .45

Kimber 1911 Desert Warrior .45

When one has little knowledge and experience in a certain field one's best option is to take the advice of trusted others. Having travelled for several months for a few years through southeast Asia, my good friend from Scotland Mike "Pepe Lopez" McCloud and I did some shooting at a range in Thailand.  Both of us went nuts over it!  I've been fortunate enough to begin my training and to have purchased two awesome weapons.  The Kimber Desert Warrior chambered in.45 is what comes recomended by my instructor and my firearms store owner.  It has me thinking.... but my best bet is to get my M&P tricked out and start on some tacticle AR training with my Stag AR 14 5.56 Nato.
And, of course, continue developing my skills to eventually become a competitive pistol shooter.

TDSA Advanced Pistol 2 completed

Although I still havn't recieved my paperwork from the government, I have certified under the TDSA Advanced Pistol 2 program.  Tonights'session had me shooting around barricades.  Rolling out and stepping out from behind barricades and shooting multiple targets.  With my acl completely severed an mcl tear and no miniscus cartlige in my right knee, it seems my best bet for stability is the rollout method.  Great instruction again and thanks to Scott Little for his knowledge (and patience)!
Tonight was my first Wednesday night out with a group of about 15 other pistol enthusiasts practising TDSA skills and shooting steel.  I shot over 400 rounds today and the barrel and holster were hot!
I also used my own belt, pouches and mags for the first time and still waiting for my permit.
It's unlikely that it will come before July 7th's Make a Wish fun day at the range so I'll probably be spectating and helping out any way I can.
Today was a great day on the range.  Although I have a few certifications under my belt, like anything, the more you learn, the more you realize how much more there is to learn.

Pistol Pat

What the hell, it is my blog! A lil self indulgence and a change in shooting can't hurt!
A made shot from my college days.  They did have colour back then! lol!
That was 31 years ago and I still play every Thursday!

The Inspiration for my Blog Title

Anyone who knows me knows my love and passion for basketball.  I was lucky enough as a boy to see Pistol Pete Maravich play for the new Orleans Jazz against the Buffalo Braves.  He remains my favorite player.  He was a bit of a hotdog or showman (which I may have been accused of before)
but I loved his style (and the fact he won a few NBA scoring titles!)
The tiltle of my blog "Pistol Patrick" pays homage to the man.. Pistol Pete Maravich.

My Stag AR 15

Here's a shot of my baby!  Me thinks it needs new shoes: trigger and optics!

Baby needs new Shoes!

Baby needs new shoes!

Well. since I have no babies or need to save for their college education, I made a new aquisition today.  Having enjoyed my experience at the range with pistols, a lil bit of trap shooting with a shotgun, the final piece in the triumvirate is a rifle.
Initially I was thinking of a long gun but sitting plugging paper would get a bit snoozy.
Scott, my instructor uses and recommends the Stag AR 15 model 8 seen above.  What appealed to me was obviously his recommendation, the badass look of the piece and the opportunity to pursue tacticle assault rifle courses; moving, shooting multiple targets, transitioning from rifle to pistol.
Now that is NOT snoozy!
The downside to all this is that it seems doubley long waiting for the government to send me my documents!!!!

Scott Little with Benelli Shotgun

Scott Little with Benelli Shotgun

WARNING!  DO NOT BLINK WHILE WATCHING THIS!
If you do you may miss ten zillion pellets being discharged in no time flat! One would assume it's a machine gun!!
Speed, control and accuracy= most excellent!
I'd like to pick up a Benelli for trap shooting, but if you see my next post, I may have to wait a while!

M&P Knife

Smith and Wesson M&P Knife

I recently recieved as a gift a very cool pocket knife.  In less than a week i  lost it.  Total bummer as it was a gift from my brother.  But prior to that, several years ago he gave me a great Leatherman utility knife which i have and use to this day.  It is a bit bulky to carry in one's pocket so I've been waiting for quite some time to find a blade that I I liked.
Since I'm on this fixation, still waiting for my M&P 9, I decided that this is the knife I like.. and much like my pistol...I can't wait to get it!
I'm learning that patience is not one of my strongest suits. (actually I've known that my whole life!)
Off to the range tomorrow for more learning and practise. I can't wait!!!

AP2 of 3 Multipule Targets: Match Simulation

Multiple Targets: Match Simulation

As the second of three parts for my TDSA  Advance Pistol 2 qualification it became clear that there is a whole lot more to this business than meets the eye.  Working with Scott Little and Travis for the last couple of sessions has been a blast!  Refamiliarizing myself with the basics, getting the feel of the firearm again and running some new drills has really helped (helped me see how much practise and time it takes to be proficient!)
That's one of the things I love about new goals.  If it comes to easy- it gets boring real fast!
In this drill we simulated a match with Scott, Travis and myself.  time and accuracy come into play to give each of us a round by round tally.  I learned quickly that making your shots is mandatory and speed is secondary.  My first score was 3, one missed shot cost me 14 points!  My last score seen here on video was 24 ,if you notice on two of the targets, I take an extra shot to better my score but lengthen my time. Today I borrowed Travis's Glock which i liked better than the last one I borrowed for some reason.  Hopefully soon I'll get my M&P 9, but my instructor Scott tells me that i'm sure to transition to a 911. (I'm sure I will too)

BLAM!

I like the center shot lol!

Strange things CAN happen!

I was at the range today shooting a Glock 9mm.  In my limited experience and notwithstanding the popularity of Glocks- I really don't like them.  I find the grip not long enough to accept my little finger and as a result  I hold the firearm higher than I should to compensate.  The slide came back and nicked me twice.
This is a testament that strange things can happen.  My shooting partner today accidentally loaded 11 rounds in the clip!  I did not think this was possible in a ten round.  The gun was proven safe and cleared prior to loading the mag.  I broke off 10 rounds, ejected the mag and aimed uprange as I always do just in  case,  and pulled the trigger.  To my surprise an 11th round fired uprange!
This goes to show how important that safe practices are.  I did pull the trigger with the gun above waist level but in the future I'll always clear it as if there are more than 10 rounds in the firearm!

12 Gauge Trap Shooting

Trap Shooting witha 12 Gauge

Wow!  I've always wanted to try this and will be purchasing a pump shotgun to explore trap shooting more!  I found I had better success with the pump rather than the overunder.

AP2 Moving and firing at multiple targets

Advanced Pistol 2: Moving and shooting multiple targets with Scott Little instructor.
This drill was a blast!  On the ground you'll see a piece if wood used as a marker, a few feet away from the targets.  The wood represents a room, so you cannot fire until you cross the marker and enter the room.  After the third target , another target from the side represents another assailant so you have to turn and fire two rounds into it.

Lanz Shooting Supplies

This is where my M&P 9 is patiently waiting for me!
Lanz Shooting Supplies is right on site at Silverdale Gun Club.  Great crew, great selection and very helpful advise for a rookie like me!  www.lanzshootingsupplies.com

Still waiting for the paperwork

I failed to mention that currently I'm still waiting on the actual paperwork from the government prior to taking possession of my M&P 9.  I have purchased the carry and range kit and it's being stored for me at Lanz Shooting supplies until the paperwork and ATT come through.  With the courses I've taken, the gear that I purchased and everything else, each day seems like a month until i take possession of this!
Of course I have a gun safe installed at home to safely store it when it finally arrives.

Competition belt and racer pouches

I recently recieved the double Alpha competion belt  with 3 racer pouches and one magnetic pouch.  Seems to take a bit of experimenting to get the proper configuration that works best for quick reloads.  I'll talk to some of the guys at the range to check out all the options.  I'll photograph and post my rig set up when completed.

Electronic Muffs

I've never heard of let alone tried electronic muffs.  I purchased a red pair from www.mdgardner.com
I took them to the range and blsted off about 250 9mm rounds with the ranges Glock.
I was totally impressed with them.  You can hear range commands and people talking but when a shot is fired the db's drop to a safe level.  Highly recommended!

CED Deluxe Range Bag

I love this range bag!  CED thought of everything here.  it will hold all your range gear, a couple of
pistols, 7 magazines, ammo and more.

ced 7000 shot timer

During my holster qualification course, I was introduced to the concept of timing how fast you can draw the sidearm from your holster and break off a shot.  Currently, my best time is.88 seconds.
It's a great way to measure your progress rather than just shooting at targets.

Skyview of Silverdale

Here's a skyview of Silverdale Gun Club.

Scott Little founded TDSA Canada in 2006. With 15 years experience, his background includes being the lead instructor at TDSA Missouri. Scott has taught over 400 students, from civilians, to U.S. and Canadian military and law enforcement members.

Scott's unique approach draws on his extensive martial arts background, as he emphasizes ideal body mechanics through the elimination of unproductive movement.

Scott is currently training under the tutelage of Max Michel, who is a three time World Speed Shooting Champion.

Assisting Scott are several instructors that have been hand picked and personally trained by Scott to teach his methods of shooting.

Here's a testimonial I wrote for their website after a session with Scott:

Five minutes into a private session with Scott Little during the TDSA AP1 and holster qualification course, it became clear that I was with the right instructor. In no time flat, my comfort, control, confidence, speed and accuracy were improved to the point that I was amazed.
There has been very few times in my life where improvements and results have been so drastic and so immediate. If you've wasted time, money, ammunition and targets doing the wrong things repeatedly- It's time to do the right things.
After a session with Scott Little, like me, you'll see dramatic improvements immediately.

Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm

Welcome to  my new blog that will act as a journal through my journey to become a competitive pistol shooter.  Pistol shooting has been a long standing interest for me and now it's the right time to pursue this goal. The photo above is my first handgun purchase.  The Smith and Wesson M&P 9 mm carry and range kit.  It comes with the lockable carry case, 3-10 round magazines,  a double mag pouch,3 different sized backstraps, an Uplula speed loader, a Blade Tech holster and of course the 9mm pistol with cable lock.  If you decide to follow me through this endeavour, you'll see my gear, my range, a few action packed videos, my successess and hopefully only limited failures!
