Single Shot Shotgun Pistol

This a crazy, really cool 12 gauge single shot pistol.  It was a rainy day at the Pumpkin shoot and
it was a ton of fun to blast this lil tiger!  My time was limited and the boyz looked super tied up getting the zombie course going, but man, did it look awesome!  Hopefully in the spring I'll have a chance to do a  few Zombie stages!

Pumpkin Shoot 2012

Some of the damage done by my ar 15 at Silverdale's 2012 Pumpkin Shoot.  It turns out that when Flarhett'ys changed the stock of my gun, they did not change the spring.  They left the old one in and it was not cycling properly.  In fact, it became unuseable as a small sping by the trigger in the upper was ruined.  Now it's out of commission till I get new parts and take it to a reliable gunsmith.  Thanks Flarrety's!

Zombie Ammo...just in case

This Get ready for the Zomies thing is hilarious!  It has turned from a tounge in cheek joke to a real thiving industry.  I love it!  Check out the Zombie tips in the movie attached.

My New Sig Sauer 1911 22 cal

Being a musician, I've been accused of being a bit of a "gear pig"  If I'm really into drums, I like to have many.  That's why I bought the Roland TD 20 electronic kit with unlimited drum, cymbal and percussion sounds.
I really like guns too so, I'm in!
Eventually i would like to buy a Kimber .45, very hot and very shiny..they are beautiful pieces of work.  For now, to save on ammo costs and still get the fun (without the bang) I purchased a Sig Sauer 1911 22 cal.  I was also looking at the Wather Colt 1911, but the Sig felt and looked much better.  The green 3 dot sights and the overall ergonomics and aesthetics of the Sig won me over. I pick it up tomorrow, and apparently Mike's Beretta PX 4 Storm is enroute after shaving off a burr on the slide that caused the jamming. I'm psyched to run it tomorrow!

New toys for the toy

At the range I found the stock to my AR 15 a bit short.  I had to hold the firearm differently, in  an unnatural fashion to compensate.  Dom at Al Flarrety's is super cool.  We rigged up my ar with a new stock, new foregrip and new handgrip.  The stock is longer and feels waaay better.  At the range on Sunday for the make a Wish Pumpkin shoot,  I bought special Hornaday Zombie 223 exploding ammo for the occasion!

Beretta PX 4 Storm

My buddy Mike from Scotland is also a gun-nut!  So much so that he purchased a Beretta PX 4 Storm withe the stainless slide.  Unfortunately, the gun jammed like crazy.  It was not feeding or extracting properly so we promptly returned it and the shop keeper gladly gave him a replacement.  Much to our surprise he encountered the same problems.  The gun has now been shipped off to Beretta to be repaired. it seems very strange for this to happen to two guns especially froma proven manufacturer like Beretta.  Once it comes back I'll take it to the range and run a couple hundred rounds through it and report back in a later post.  Stay tuned!

AR at 100 yards

From 100 yards it was really tough to see if I was  hitting the target or not.  I saw the two bulls eyes, but not much after that.  Not until I retrieved the target did I see that I was in fact pretty close.  But close only counts in hand grenades!  better shooting next time!

AR 15 target from 50 yards

Having sighted in my AR 15, I began shooting from 50 yards and here are the results.
It's unbelievable how much "boom" there is and how little recoil there is.  The Stag AR 15 is a  total gas to shoot!

My Ar is awake!

Today was a gorgeous warm, sunny day and I had to hit the range to sight in my ar.  Youtube videos and a few hints from fellow shooters made it far easier than I expected.
My Stag AR 15 is super accurate, fun to shoot and is really loud!! A triumvirate of wicked arsenal bonuses!

Ar 15 with scope, sighted in and resting

Not sure if this is a common phenomenon, or if it's because I broke all my fingers.
After shooting my pistol regularly for a few weeks, my trigger finger is siezed.  Very painful.
Go figure, one more ailment!  But that has given me the chance to replace  the cam pin in my ar, mount my scope, set up my gun rest and sight in my ar.  It's resting in this shot, bu not in  the next!

Cuttin out the center

My last trip to the range was a breakthrough for my accuracy.  After working on platform and grip and draws, I made a few small adjustments on how the sight the target.  The results were instant and I believe now that I have finally found the formula that really works for me. In the past, accuracy was an issue and now I think I have it tuned in. Man, what a difference!

Practicing Reloads

Using video for either drum techniques or firearm techniques allows me to see objectively what I'm doing right and what needs to be corrected.  n my next reload post, I'll be correcting the errors that I can see here.  Far too much body movement wastes time and inhibits fast sighting.

My Buddy Mike from Scotland

Having done shooting together in Asia, my buddy Mike and I hiet the range to blast a few hundred rounds.  He purchased a Beretta PX4 Storm, however,it continually jammed and will b returned for a refund.  He'll select another brand and model wqhen he comes over for another visit next spring.
Hopefully, at that time he'll do his TDSA advanced pistol courses as well
