I purchased a Nanovault locking case to travel and lock my gun should I have to stop to or from the range. Here is a shot of it and also locked to the plumbing in the trash under the sink of my hotel room rear the range! Locked securely and thieves usually don't search for valuables in the hidden trash bin!

Benelli Super Nova Shotgun 12 gauge
Due to my love of animals and my desire to only shoot them with a camera, I purchased a Benelli Super Nova 12 gauge shotgun for trap shooting. I can also substitute the 28 inch barrel for a 14 inch barrel for tactical and three gun competitions.

Shooting Inhibitor
At the risk of viewer nausea, I cannot just post my advancements in pistol shooting, I must share the teeny roadblocks that offer me challenges to overcome.
As you know, my blog name Pistol Patrick comes from my love of basketball and the homage paid to Pistol Pete Maravich..
I embarked on this journey of pistol competition because I was always intrigued with the sport and I knew my hyper-athletic years were coming to a close. (if it were not for my innate ability to use denial, reality is, my hyper-athletic years left me a while ago)
Basketball is a sport that will retire you in a grisly, gruesome injury that leaves you no choice but to end your career.
I did not quit.
I would not leave the sport, the sport had to kick me out!
Thank you to the game of basketball.
Now, I can focus on a different kind of shooting!

Blackhawk Leg Holster
I purchased this leg holster for my Sig .45 P220 Elite. I don't shoot my .45 nearly as much as my 9 mm, so I thought I'd mix it up a bit with a leg holster in coyote tan.
Only problem is, I tore my quad muscle off the bone Thursday and have reconstructive surgery on Monday. Just in time for summer!

HK Mark 23 .45 Socom
My buddy Sean finally received his att, so now he can play with his toys. After purchasing an HK USP .45 he was luck enough to get an HK Mark 23.45. This pistol is a brute and used exclusively by the Navy Seals. I edited out some of the more colourful language Sean uses to describe this beast!

Revamped Retro Zombie Buggy
I recently revamped my 92 Jeep into a funky Zombie Buggy! Must be prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse!
UTS 15 Tactical Shotgun
Here's the new club shotgun, first go round. It's a 15 capacity UTS 15 tactical shotgun and looks like it's been plucked from the Terminator's private cache! Very cool and very little recoil.

Bushmaster AR 15
A cold day at the range for March, but fun as always! Met a couple of cool guys, Matt and Steve.
Here's a vid of me shooting probably the coolest AR 15 yet! Totally tricked out from Bushmaster.

In Memory of Seth
It's almost been a year since I embarked on this journey of shooting. I've been fortunate enough to meet some really terrific people. One of those people is Seth Lanzalone, owner of Lanz Shooting Supplies located at Silverdale Gun Club. On Sunday, Seth at just 38, passed peacefully in his sleep.
Seth was one of my favorite people at the club and was truly an awesome guy. He will be missed by many.

Ghost Stinger Holster
When I bought my CZ Shadow I picked up a Bladetech holster for it. I really wasn't happy with it as even after I inserted shims the shims I jimmyrigged for it, the firearm still pointed inward toward my thigh.
After some research I purchased a Ghost International Stinger holster for my CZ. It's really well made,it's super adjustable and positions the gun perfectly for safe and fast draws. I'm just taking a break from loads of dry firing with the new rig and having lots of fun! Can't wait to take it to the range!

Chuggz Boyle: CZ 75 SPO1 Shadow
Fun at the range with my buddy Doug. You'll see why repeating range safety procedures is fundamentally important. You'll see Doug pull the trigger, but not all the way, thinking the gun is empty. But by keeping the gun pointed down range, the surprise shot was just that, but with no ill effects. Surprize!
Sig Sauer P220 Elite .45 acp
Another beautiful winter day at the range! This video is day one with my new Sig Sauer P220 Elite .45 acp in stainless. My buddy Doug was in town from out east so we had the full arsenal of toys to play with for the day. This Sig .45 and my CZ were his two favorites and, are mine as well.
Since I'm not a fan of the 1911 platform, the Sig P220 is perfect for me. Plus it is an awesome looking handgun!

Sig Sauer P220 Elite .45
Sig Sauer P220 Elite
After much research and consternation I finally decided on the best .45 for me.
As I've stated in my past posts, I'm not a big fan of the 1911 because of the safety placement and the grip safety.
After pouring through loads of reviews, youtube videos and hands on feel, for me, I hit the bullseye with this. The Sig Sauer P220 Elite.
Seth, at Lanz had one, and after gripping it and feeling the trigger I thought it was right for me. Unfortunately I delayed and another fortunute fella scooped it up.
Like a fine woman, they are hard to come by.
So, coincidentally, I saw her again at place called Al Flaherty's. This one was not American, but 100% German engineering. She felt great to the touch and we reconnected. I knew she was hard to come by so I committed to her.
Dom and his team at Al's are not only great guys but total pros.
I'm really stoked to have this wicked .45.
I'll post again when I audition this lil tiger.

LaserLyte Dryfire Training System
LaserLyte Dryfire Training System
After much research and a lot of dryfiring I decided to try the LaserLyte system. The LT Pro is inserted into the end of the barrell and is activated when the trigger is pulled. A red laser is emitted up to 50 yards. I'll primarily be using it for dryfire training, ie, target aquisition, accuracy of sight picture and timed holster draws while at home. I though it was a good idea and the reviews seem impressive.
What I didn't like about dryfire training without a laser system is you really don't know if you're on target or not, so it seems to me, that it helps with draws but not so much with precision accuracy. I'm betting this system will help with both.
I also plan on using my shot timer at random countdowns to increase my speed actually see my accuracy levels. The cool thing also is that it is used with the firearm I use at the range, primarily my CZ SP01 Shadow. Including shipping the LaserLyte cartridge and electronic target were $224.
I figure it's a good investment saving both ammo and gas to the range. I can also practice anytime day or night! Once I try it out I'll post a video and a review.

Zero Dark Thirty
It was a sunny beautiful day today...minus 26 with the windchill but a perfect day to shoot a couple small targets of one of history's biggest assholes!
I would never shoot a target that represents an actual person other than this lunatic and that well known Nazi dickbrain! ( I did mix it up with some 9mm, 38 specials and a few well placed 357 magnum shots.)

Dirty Harry .44 Smith and Wesson
January 10th 2013: Beautiful sunny day, 8 degrees and warm. I once again met a some cool guys today, and Bill from St. Catherines, has a .44 magnum Smith and Wesson blued.
This is a gorgeous high power piece! Here's a vid of me shooting it, and of course I had to mix it with a lil Metallica! Listen to the shots and coincidentally, 3 of 4 are in totally perfect time with the music.

New Year's Day 2013
New Year's Day 2013, no hangover and training at the range! As per the last post, these targets are pretty small. I placed one in front to simulate a hostage and I target the one behind as the hostage taker. It makes it easier for me to make each shot count.
I managed to cut out a nice smiley face on the hostage taker and fired off 6 clips or 60 rounds.
My CZ trigger is pretty light and I did have 2 ad's (accidental discharges) Unfortunately, I happened to hit the hostage twice. Challenging drill and I'll post better results next time
(I do like the smiley face I managed to carve out) And remember the five and a half shots below smiley face are nasty for him as well!
December 2012 Ar@50
Here's a small target at 50 yards using my Stag AR 15 and Bushnell scope. My index finger puts the target to scale for an idea of the grouping. Stay posted!
